Some journeys begin with certainty, but mine began with a quiet pull — a gentle intuition that fashion, in its purest and most honest form, was where I felt most at home.
Where VE-VA First Took Root
VE-VA grew from that feeling, from my love for my grandmother’s sarees that outlast seasons, and from the belief that clothing should let a woman inhabit herself with ease.

At ve-va, we believe clothing should be timeless, honest, and human.

Walking a Path That Wasn’t Mine
But my beginning was elsewhere. At fifteen, I chose engineering — the path that looked steady, expected, and reassuring to the world around me. I followed it faithfully, worked at TATA, and lived the rhythm of a life that made sense on paper.
And yet, somewhere beneath the structure of those days, a softer voice kept reminding me that I was meant for something different.
The Pause That Brought Clarity
My MBA in the UK became a pause — a breath long enough to listen. Even in that new landscape, far from everything familiar, fashion kept finding its way back to me. My research into sustainable supply chains became the moment the pieces quietly aligned: creativity, responsibility, and purpose meeting in one place.
Returning Home With Intention
Returning to India, I carried a clearer vision — to create a brand where beauty and integrity could exist side by side. A place where design is intentional, and where the people behind each garment are valued just as deeply.

We work closely with local artisans and tailors, ensuring they are paid fairly and treated with dignity — because a garment is never just fabric; it is the story of every hand that shapes it.
The Quiet Influence That Grounded Us
And through all of this runs the subtle influence of my mother — her instinctive care for the environment, long before sustainability had a name. ve-va holds a part of her quiet wisdom too.
The Pillars We Stand On
Today, our work rests on three foundations:

• Timeless silhouettes
• Fair trade
• Natural textiles

Our Promise
We’re not here to chase trends or to present sustainability as flawless. We’re here to create clothing that honours the people who make it, the women who wear it, and the environment that carries us all.

If You’re Reading This, You’re Part of the Story
And for that, I am deeply grateful.
Warmly,
Vedhasree Vaibhav
